Istanbul Hotel Galata Antique, had been built as a mansion in 1881 (at that time beyoglu and taksim was called "Pera") for a levatine french family named Decugis, by the famous architect Alexandre Vallaury. Pera Palace Hotel, Istanbul Archeology Museum, Bosphorus Palace, Academy of Fine Arts are some examples of his monuments in Istanbul. In his shop at Istikal Street Monsieur Decugis was selling valuable antiques, porcelains and crystals. He was well known about his business ethics and honesty. Back then Beyoglu was home district for the opulent levantine families - mostly the francophones - who were living in Istanbul. The life in Beyoglu was spectacular and flashy with operas, charity balls, elegant restaurants and café-chantants.

Each of Galata Antique Hotel Istanbul's 23 bedrooms is individually designed and furnished with classic style. Each room has split air-conditioning, bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, minibar, direct dial telephone and satellite television. We also have non-smoking rooms.
Hotel has a historical elevator working perfectly. Despite of being in a very central location, the rooms are quiet and peaceful. There is also daily housekeeping service during your stay.
You may find a useful guide book of Istanbul in your room and a selection of interesting books, travel magazines about Turkey and Istanbul in the lobby. There is a free safebox at the reception at your service.

Our hotel is situated at the end of Istanbul's most popular pedestrian street, Istiklal. Istiklal Street starts with the taxim square and ends with tunel.
